Yesterday was the Queensboro Food Drive for the fall of 2009. We did pretty well, considering our out-of-the-way location, and the fact that most of our customers (probably 97%) are not from Wilmington. We had a surprise visitor for the food drive. Here’s a photo of her:

Queensboro accepts donation requests from nonprofit organizations. One of our recent recipients was “Twin Rivers Delivers,” a program of the Twin Rivers Associates, an adult day center in Exeter, NH. One of my privileges as the Social Media coordinator for Queensboro is to work with donation requests and recipients. We receive hundreds of letters and requests, many of which have heartbreaking stories attached. We are never able to fill all of the requests we receive, but I wish we could.
