An old song has taken on new relevance in the nation of Japan. A recent banana shortage has caused grocers and produce clerks to start humming “Yes, we have no bananas,” on a regular basis. The cause of this shortfall has nothing to do with the world economy, crop failures, or trade issues. Most experts claim that Japan’s latest fad diet is to blame.
The Morning Banana Diet has folks purchasing mass quantities of bananas the moment they hit the shelves. As far as diets go, this one is pretty simple. For breakfast you eat as many bananas as you want and wash them down with a glass or two of room-temperature water. You can eat whatever you want for lunch and
dinner, though you have to finish dinner by 8:00 p.m. The diet also requires you to hit the sack by midnight.
Before you go rushing down to your local supermarket to stock up on the yellow fruit, a few words of caution might be in order.
In recent decades, Japan has seen a wide variety of fad diet crazes come and go. Last year, for instance, fermented soybean was a scarce commodity as people flocked to the Fermented Soybean, or Natto, Diet. Diets based on black vinegar, beer yeast, chili pepper, black tea fungus, and even baby formula have each had their moments of popularity before fading into obscurity.
An exciting new diet tends to lose its appeal right around the time the lost pounds start creeping back.
In contrast, our Cool Tech Performance Polos retain their appeal year after year. This classic performance polo has a smooth hand, a stylish design, and a natural drape that complements virtually any body style. With the holidays closing in, don’t miss the chance to share these attractive polos with your entire crew.
Best Wishes,
